About Us

We are Your Ultimate Summer Destination!

Okanagan Parasail is a family owned and operated business that is dedicated to providing you with the best experience possible. Come fly with us hundreds of feet over Lake Okanagan for the ride that will make your summer. Enjoy the spectacular views of Kelowna and the Okanagan Valley and wave to your friends below.

What to Expect

  • Take off from the back of our custom-built parasail boat’s flight deck and get ready for the ride of your life. You can choose to be gently dipped a little or a lot in the lake water and land on the back of the boat just as gently as you took off.

  • You have the option to be dipped in the water so if this is something you want to enjoy make sure to wear your bathing suit and bring a small bag on-board with a change of clothes or a towel. The dipping is controlled by the skipper and perfectly safe.

  • Don’t forget to ask about our Go-Pro video package. The Go-Pro sits on a selfie stick in front of you and takes and a video of you in the parachute with the epic views in the background. You leave the boat afterwards with the SD memory card.

  • If you have a friend or family member with you that would like to accompany you onboard the boat, we charge a small fee for observers to cover the cost of fuel. Observers are allowed onboard the boat on a first come first serve basis if there is space available at the time of your flight.

  • Age limits are 4-5 years or older, there are no physical limitations to come parasailing for those older. If you can sit up, you can go parasailing.

  • Bare in mind that it is always cooler on the water vs being on land so make sure to wear suitable clothing for the day.

  • You won’t believe how peaceful and quiet it is over Lake Okanagan. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the amazing scenery.

  • On a clear day you can see miles of the Okanagan Valley in both directions.  You'll also see panoramic views of Downtown Kelowna, countless wineries, orchards and of course beautiful Lake Okanagan.

We encourage you to plan for parasailing during the first part of your vacation. That way, if the weather does not co-operate at first you will still have other opportunities to fly!

Safety

Parasail is Kelowna's longest running parasail company and has operated since 2010 and happy to report that we have had no parasailing accidents or claims to date, not even a stubbed toe.

Okanagan Parasail has the best safety record in the Okanagan Valley. Not only do you get the friendliest staff but all crew members are specially trained in all aspects of parasailing, boat handling, and flight procedures. Your captain holds a SVOP commercial operators licence as well as an MED A3 endorsement for safe boating and handling.  Further more your crew members hold a certificate in First Aid for extra safety and peace-of-mind.

Weather

Parasailing is a very weather dependent activity and unfortunately we cannot run in high winds over 20 knots or in heavy rain. We will always contact you with as much notice as possible if we feel the weather is going to affect a trip to give you the opportunity to reschedule. However please note that sometimes the weather can change very quickly and we may have to cancel at the last minute. On very rare occasions the weather can turn while out on the water – please understand that should the skipper deem the conditions unsafe to continue he will have to return to the marina. In all of these circumstances you will be offered a full refund if you have not parasailed, or we can move you to another trip/day.

Medical Conditions

If you have a medical condition that may affect or be affected by parasailing you need to let us know. For example, but not limited to back/neck issues, leg/ ankle issues and epilepsy. The severity of the issue in comparison to the weather conditions may result in you not being able to participate. There are very few conditions however that would prevent you from parasailing but we must take into consideration the weather conditions. Unfortunately, pregnant woman cannot parasail, sorry. Please contact us if you would like to discuss any special requirements.
